The year is 2073 and I am 86 years old

When I was a kid I was bored all the time. There were video games, but no Internet. Everything in my childhood felt lonely. Perhaps this gave me a sense of independence. Perhaps it taught me to be distrustful of others, or, at least, to not ask for anything.

As a teenager I felt isolated. Detached from the broader lives of my peers. They were doing things I was somehow not allowed to do, or feel, or be. I did not enjoy life. I did not want to actually do or be anything.
